na yujyamanaya bhaktya
bhagavaty akhilatmani
sadrso ’sti sivah pantha
yoginam brahma-siddhaye

Perfection in self-realization cannot be attained by any kind of yogi unless he engages in devotional service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, for that is the only auspicious path.
