The fruit Vendor
One morning a fruit vender called out ‘Fruits for sale! Fruits for sale!”. Krishna heard her calling and came pattering through the courtyard. There were apples, bananas, pineapples, Krishna wanted some fruits.
Krishna had seen his mother give me grains in exchange-known as the barter system. So he pattered back and picked up a handful of rice grains.
The grains slipped from his little hands as he ran back to the fruit vender. She was so charmed that she gave him the entire basket of fruits in exchange for those few grains of rice.
